MORRIS PLAINS, N.J., – Employees at the Weichert corporate headquarters in Morris Plains recently held their annual
Passionately Pink for the Cure™ Event to fight against breast cancer. The Weichert Family of Companies employees
raised more than $3,000 in contributions for the
“Giving
back to the community is an important part of Weichert culture,” said Denise
Smith, senior vice president of administration and operations for Weichert. “In
participating in events like Passionately Pink for the Cure, Weichert employees
are able to help make a positive difference in the lives of those affected by
this disease.”
Up to 75
percent of the net income from each Komen domestic affiliate is dedicated to
fighting breast cancer in that affiliate's community. Every year, Komen
affiliates award grants to local hospitals and community organizations that
provide breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment
programs for medically underserved women. Remaining net income, minimum of 25
percent, supports the Komen Research Grant Program, which funds groundbreaking
breast cancer research and scientific programs around the world.
Passionately
Pink for the Cure, a year-round fundraising and education program, encourages
companies, schools and organizations to share in the promise of finding a cure
by supporting breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment. Since
1982, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has been a global leader in
the fight against breast cancer through its support of innovative research and
