than 1,000 Weichert® real estate professionals recently met in Atlantic City,
N.J., for a three-day convention, themed “The Way Forward.” Members of both
Weichert Real Estate Affiliates, Inc. (WREA), the franchise division of
N.J.-based Weichert, Realtors®, and sales professionals from Weichert’s
company-owned offices gathered for a packed schedule of informative breakout
sessions and guest speakers.
WREA
President Martin J. Rueter kicked off the convention with a welcome address
that spelled out how the Weichert brand’s unique programs, tools, training, and
the use of technology all work to further the organization’s commitment to its
customers and clients. In addition, WREA Senior Vice President Bill Scavone
presented the company’s plan for accelerated national expansion and introduced
the latest in training, marketing, management and technology.
The
convention agenda also included five top keynote speakers: Terry Watson,
a licensed real estate agent, legendary speaker and motivational mentor; Mark
Leader, a real estate coach, public speaker and founder of Leader’s Choice,
a real estate training company; Darren Hardy, publisher and founding
director of SUCCESS magazine; motivational humorist, business strategy
consultant and author Karel Murray; and Tommy Lasorda, former
manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers and a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Some
of the other highlights of the Weichert National Convention include:
- Rueter reviewed the recent history
of the housing market and overall economy, and presented his much-anticipated
predictions for the future health of the real estate market.
- As winner of the Weichert Convention
National Anthem Contest, Laura McCutcheon, a sales associate with Weichert’s
Media, Pa., office, presented the national anthem to a standing ovation.
- Seven Weichert offices
were recognized with the Model Office Award. WEICHERT, REALTORS – ABG
Properties in Louisville, Ky.; WEICHERT, REALTORS – Excel in Bingham Farms,
Mich.; WEICHERT, REALTORS – The Franzese Group in Brooklyn, N.Y.; WEICHERT,
REALTORS – Graham-Welch, LLC in Overland Park, Kan.; WEICHERT, REALTORS – McKee
Real Estate in Long Grove, Ill.; WEICHERT, REALTORS – Nickel Group in Oak Park,
Ill.; WEICHERT, REALTORS – Pikes Peak Group in Colorado Springs, Colo.; and
WEICHERT, REALTORS – Points East/Yankee Trader in Portsmouth, N.H., were
honored for their office’s overall functionality, signage and curb appeal,
interior décor and design, communication and other electronic resources.
Convention attendees brought home both positive news about the
future of real estate and a reminder of the various tools and services that
Weichert offers to help them grow their business. The experience can best be
